Passphrase Generator creates random word sequences using a 500-word EFF-inspired wordlist. Passphrases are easier to remember than random characters while offering strong entropy — a 5-word passphrase has over 50 bits of entropy.
How to Use
- 1
Configure passphrase
Choose the number of words (4–8 recommended), separator (hyphen, space, dot), and whether to capitalize words.
- 2
Generate
Click "Generate" to create a strong, memorable passphrase from a cryptographically random word selection.
- 3
Copy and save
Copy your passphrase and store it in a password manager. Four random words give ~52 bits of entropy.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Passphrases are both stronger and more memorable. Four random words give roughly 52 bits of entropy — equivalent to a 10-character random password — but much easier to type and remember.
