Translate text to Morse code dots and dashes, and decode Morse back to text
Morse code was developed in the 1830s–1840s by Samuel Morse and Alfred Vail for use with the electric telegraph. Each letter and digit is represented by a sequence of dots (·) and dashes (−). Words are separated by a forward slash (/) when written. Morse code was critical for maritime communication and military operations, and SOS (··· −−− ···) remains an internationally recognized distress signal to this day.
